Research In Motion - A Great Canadian Company!

For sure. But why am I gushing about RIM, you may wonder?

Well, for one thing the RIM World HQ is not too far away from the Pink World HQ - here in Southern Ontario. That’s always something I’ve been quick to point out whenever the subject of Blackberries crops up in conversation as I travel the world.

But the real reason I’m mentioning RIM now is because - we owe them! Let me explain.

As we closed up the Conference in Las Vegas last week, George Spalding and I commented on a hilarious Rick Mercer skit, which was shown on our Conference big screens (Rick Mercer is probably Canada’s wittiest commentator with a weekly TV show).

Well, when a company makes world beating products like RIM have done with their Blackberry, it’s sometimes just too tempting to take pot shots when you’re standing on a stage and winging it. And I think George and I did just that - well George did, anyway!

Connecting together this funny clip and RIM’s recent challenges with their email services is a stretch - to say the least - and I think that was a bit unfair of us. So we owe RIM an apology.

Sorry, RIM, we really do love you - and we’ll be much more careful in the future.

    Behind the Elephant!

We had a very, very special guest at the Conference last week.

Tai, the 40-year-old female elephant from the Santa Ana Zoo. She was great!

    Memories of the 2008 Conference

Just got back from Las Vegas and the 12th Annual IT Service Management Conference & Exhibition.

I’ve lost track of the number of people who’ve already asked where they can see videos from the event. We’ll likely be posting a number of memorable videos on our website. But for now - check this out!

What’s An “ITIL Service Manager” Certification Worth?

Thanks to my buddy, Jack Probst, for forwarding this link.

Out of the Top 10 certifications in IT, the “ITIL Service Manager” comes in 5th!

And the “ITIL Practitioner” is 9th!

More Pink Perspectives on The Way!

Last year - right after the ITIL V3 launch - we presented a few free seminars in key cities around the world (Orlando, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Seattle & Toronto). The objective was to give you our perspective of what we could all expect from the new version of ITIL. The 2007 Pink Perspective Series was a great success. We got lots of positive feedback and met quite a few nice folks along the way!

Well - we’ve decided to try and make this a regular annual feature on our calendar. So watch this space for details of the 2008 Pink Perspective Series this coming June/July. There isn’t any new ITIL stuff to worry about this time - at least I hope not - but there’s still plenty of topics to talk about.

Let me know if there’s something in particular you’d like us to research and present for you.
