Leading Change

As fresh today as when it was first published 10 years ago - the definite introduction for how to lead major change within an organization (in fact the front cover describes the book as an "action plan"). This is the first book where Professor Kotter outlines his Eight Step approach. Developed after years of researching the successes and failures of major projects within large businesses. Here's Professor Kotter's website: www.johnkotter.com. If you have a favourite book you'd like to pass on - please post a comment.

Good to see the Kotter scope moving beyond concern about the 500 lb political Gorillas (Organizsational Change) to the 6,000 30 lb baboons on the forest floor that make the change where they work - Individual Change.

While Kotter does not endorse “fixing” the org chart as the totality of org change. A new org chart is too often treated as the only necessary move to effect organizational change.

This book did wonders for us as a company a few years back. It’s funny how you could spend thousands and thousands of dollars on consultants to come help you, or pay 20 bucks for a book to tell you the same thing.  Very highly recommended.

Do you or anybody else know whether these books have been translated into Finnish?
