Troy Is Right On The Money!

My buddy Troy DuMoulin has written an excellent piece this morning about how inefficient IT practices come under extra scrutiny when we're economically challenged. "You Can Only Afford Bad or No Processes When You Have Lots of Cash!" I'd say the reason for this is founded in that age-old habit of taking the short-term path of least resistance. Thinking about improvements, planning for them and executing them means extra work - at least initially. It's easier - in the short-term - to just keep going with the old, inefficient ways. That's why at home the door handle needs to be jiggled and you still haven't got around to clearing out the garage. So, here's the question - are you a person who gets things done? Or are you a person who just gets by? It's something of a moot point when we're talking about chores at home - that's my place and I have to live in it. But when it comes to work, we're paid to do a "good" job, and these days "good" doesn't mean just coasting along with minimal effort.
