PR 54 - Its A Connected World - Internet Of Things

Becoming Nodes On The Network Of Connected Devices Welcome to the launch of Practitioner Radio 2.0! Chris and I have been doing this Podcast for over three years on subjects related to IT Governance and Management Practices. However, as the world of Information Technology becomes even more embedded in our daily lives it only makes sense in this Podcast to expand our conversation and coverage to a wider field of observation and commentary. We live in a connected world where according to a recent UN Study “More people have cell phones than toilets." From this context we need to address the the emerging trends and buzz words such as BYOD, Consumerization of IT, Wearable Tech, Imperceptible Tech and the current reality of individuals connected via devices 24x7 to the Internet of Everything. We are now integrated into the Matrix and perhaps soon into the Borg Collective. What is true is that while we may put up a feeble resistance, declare the right to unplug, it seems like we face an inevitable invasion. Technology is becoming integrated and literally embedded into every aspect of our lives. While we, or our parents may choose to resist these trends this option will not even occur to our children. In this respect there are many subjects and perspectives we need to explore about how this will impact the lives and careers of IT professional who make their living developing and supporting technology services. Join Chris and I as we discuss the implication of a “Connected World” Show Notes:
